The Learning Aisle

Archstorming Architecture Competition / Oct’2021 Worked in a team of three for the design of a primary school based in Africa

The ‘Learning Aisle’ proposed at Bamako, the capital of Mali, Africa will act as a symbol to the present-day Enko Education’s innovative model. It is a step forward in experiencing the core learning in a school that promotes the SDG4 core & secondary indicators of ‘Quality Education’ with the main focus on Target-4A to ‘Build and Upgrade inclusive and safe schools’. The ‘Aisle’ is the movement to create a sustainable, replicable, and scalable model which is based on the application of eco-urban characteristics and attention restoration theory (ART) that stimulates learning within the built environment through the promotion of integrated design, sustainable solutions, and principles of the circular economy. This model produces the least waste and promotes  regeneration of existing resources on the site through small interventions like greywater treatment bio-pond, rainwater harvesting, Solar energy use, and low carbon façade treatments.
